Additionally, she is making the e-book available to service members for free through the United Through Reading app starting in April.
Denniston, an active duty Air Force spouse and mother of three, understands firsthand the challenges faced by military families, particularly children. Her debut picture book, “Maggie the Military Rat,” has garnered widespread acclaim for its engaging narrative and moving artwork, making it a beloved addition to the shelves of military families. In recognition of the sacrifices made by military families and the resilience shown by military children, Denniston has decided to give back in a meaningful way. Denniston has also donated the electronic version of her book to United Through Reading, a nonprofit that helps military service members record themselves reading books to their children through its free program and app.
